I am a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of California. I have a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. I believe in natural medicine and after my undergrad degree was completed, I researched different professions in the health field. It was between Physical Therapy and Chinese Medicine. This was a tough choice since they are both great fields. I chose Chinese Medicine because I felt it offered everything from internal medicine to musculoskeletal issues.
After a decade dedicated to my education, I have more than 300+hours volunteering at SDSU Fitness Center, physical therapy clinics, and at Alvarado Rehab Hospital. The volunteer hours provided me with plenty of experience with patients suffering from various issues, from neurological damage, emotional trauma to sport injuries and allergies. I also have 3400+ clinical hours in acupuncture, herbal medicine, and Tui Na (medical massage), all of which have laid a strong foundation for me to specialize in orthopedics and internal medicine. Integrating my western medical knowledge with eastern medicine has yielded amazing outcomes.
My experience and style of treatment is referred to as "DNA" or Distal Needling Acupuncture. This is based on the understanding of how the meridian system or fascial planes flow throughout the body. I can treat internal pathologies and musculoskeletal dysfunctions by stimulation of points along the pathways to the affected area.
I am a caring and emphatic licensed Acupuncturist with energy, a solid record of accomplishments and an extensive involvement in my field of skill. I am a dedicated professional who believes that massage plays a big part of my Acupuncturist treatment along with Qi Gong, Cupping, Moxa, Gua Sha and Herbal treatments as tools to help my patients in their healing process.
I am a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM), With over 25 years of experience in the Holistic Health Industry I have earned reputation, respect and accolades not only from my clients but from the public. I took interest in the Holistic Field in the early 80’s when I was studying Shiatsu at a local massage school in San Diego. I went on to study further in the Eastern and Western base therapy healing modalities. I studied; Shiatsu, Swedish Massage, Sports medical massage, Neuromuscular therapy, Chinese Medical massage, Trigger point therapy, deep tissue and myofascial therapy just to mention a few. This experience allowed me to greatly master and grow my skills.
When treating my patients, I combine Traditional Chinese Medical and Western Medical Theories and treatment to help create better treatment for my patients. My style of acupuncture is heavily based from massage background and I have an intimate knowledge of muscles anatomy, fascia and in the nervous system. I am also the co-founder of ACHTH through which I hope to bring my own uniqueness in the healing art to the general community.
